PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: With over 22 years of immersion in the waterpark industry and an additional 8 years serving as a personal assistant, I bring a wealth of diverse experience to my roles.

I currently hold an esteemed Ellis & Associates license, and I am committed to continually expanding my expertise by pursuing additional certifications in the future.
WHAT HONORS, AWARDS OR SPECIAL RECOGNITION HAVE YOU ACHIEVED?
While there are numerous achievements throughout my career, recent highlights include: being nominated as Leader of the Month and Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park recently receiving the prestigious Platinum International Aquatic Safety Award from Ellis & Associates.
WHAT MADE YOU GO INTO THIS FIELD?
In 2002, I embarked on a career transition seeking fresh challenges and personal growth. Joining Jumeirah Group at Wild Wadi Waterpark in Dubai marked the beginning of an enriching journey, culminating in my current role as Associate Director after 17 years of dedicated service.
WHAT ASPECT OF THE WATERPARK INDUSTRY DO YOU LIKE BEST?
I am particularly drawn to the continuous in- novation within the industry on a global scale. Interacting with visitors from diverse backgrounds and ensuring their safety while creating unforgettable experiences remains immensely fulfilling.
WHO HAS MOST INSPIRED YOU IN YOUR CAREER?
I feel incredibly fortunate as a Muslim woman from Kenya to have found myself in this industry, where I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with and learning from numerous seasoned industry veterans, including: Lori Caligiuri, Glenn Davidson, Chris Perry, Maria Houbenova, Svety Petrova, Robert Klok, Darren Porter, Hayden Homes, Marina Blazhko, Gary Reuter, Mariana Marx, Chris Swartz, and last but not least Scott Wellington.
WAHT HAS BEEN THE GREATEST CHALLENGE IN YOUR WATERPARK CAREER?
Challenges present opportunities for growth and innovation. Whether it’s elevating lifeguard training standards or navigating cultural nuances in the Middle East, I approach each obstacle as a chance to enhance our practices and foster a safer environment.
HOW DO YOU KEEP FOCUSED AND MOTIVATED?
Maintaining a positive work environment, setting clear goals, and fostering a culture of recognition contribute to my sustained motivation. Consistency and a firm belief in the power of per- severance drive me towards continued success.

Alongside the timeless wisdom found in the Holy Quran, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey serves as a guiding beacon. I also draw inspiration from motivational speeches and podcasts, enriching my perspective in both personal and professional realms.

Engaging with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds adds a unique and fulfilling dimension to my work.
WHAT CAREER OR BUSINESS WOULD YOU CONSIDER IF YOU WERE STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN?
While I am fulfilled in my current role, entrepreneurship in the hospitality industry would offer an enticing avenue for future exploration.
HOW DID YOU FIRST GET INVOLVED WITH THE WWA?
Our collaboration with WWA for initiatives like the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson, initially started at Wild Wadi in Dubai and now continues at Desert Falls Water and Adventure Park Qatar.
WHAT IS SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT YOU THAT FEW WOULD KNOW OR WOULD GUESS?
Few may know that I have had the privilege of traversing the globe, immersing myself in various cultures and landscapes. These experiences have profoundly shaped my perspective and enriched my life journey. •
