(2) Ready, Set, Go! Workshop - US $169
Sunday, Oct. 26, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. This is a practical guide for the first time waterpark
operator. Whether you are a public facility or planning your first waterpark venture, you will find
this training to be your most valuable tool in preparing for your first season. You will learn how to
get a head start on your marketing, operation and management plans for a new or expanded facility.
Samples of everything you need to get started will be reviewed and discussed by a panel of experienced
professionals. This full day session is a blend of information and experience that will leave you
informed, prepared and thoroughly entertained. Participants will be guided through a series of
practical checklists, guides and presentations. Each attendee will take home an outline of how to
get their new ventures off the ground. Your main tour guide for this practical, yet entertaining day
will share her experience of over twenty-five years of facility management in public recreation, as
well as waterpark management coach in both the private and public waterpark markets. She will be
joined by a panel of experienced recreation professionals who have been involved in the management
of some of the best facilities in our business today.

(8) Certified Pool-Spa Operator (CPO) Course Two Day Classroom Course: US $269

National Swimming Pool Foundation's two-day workshop designed to provide the knowledge necessary to
operate and manage public pools and spas. The CPO class is widely accepted by health departments and
fulfills the local and state requirements for certification for pool service technicians as defined
in many states.

Pool Operators (CPOs) new insight and rationale to expand their understanding of
aquatic recreation facility water-quality science. Current certification and 3
years experience or equivalent are prerequisites. |

(10) American Red Cross Lifeguard Management Training - US
$119 Monday, Oct. 27, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The new American Red Cross Lifeguard Management course is ideal for experienced managers
new to aquatics and experienced aquatics professionals new to management. This course
teaches skills and knowledge to effectively manage lifeguards and create an environment
that keeps patrons, lifeguards and the aquatic facility safe. You'll learn about
supervisory responsibilities, lifeguard selection/training, teambuilding, injury
prevention, risk minimization and emergency-response planning. You'll get a copy
of Lifeguard Management Participant's Manual and CD-ROM with sample in-service
trainings, records and reports. Tuition is $119

(11) StarGuard Lifeguard Instructor
Workshop - US $180
Monday, Oct. 27, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn how experiential learning theory can streamline your lifeguard training sessions, while maximizing skills development and retention, lifeguard confidence and lifeguard professionalism. This will be a blended learning experience combining an online course (Part A) with an instructor-trainer led (Part B) session. The hands-on, interactive Part B class will be in the water, so bring your suit! This session will also cover the administrative aspects of becoming a Starfish Aquatics Institute Training Center so that you can provide the StarGuard and Emergency Care curriculum to your staff or the community. The cost of this workshop will be reimbursed if you or your facility becomes a Training Center within 12 months of the course date.

(12) AIMS on the Road: Maintenance for Aquatic Facilities $240 NEW!

AIMS on the Road will offer an eight (8) hour course in the area of maintenance for aquatic facilities. Learn how inspections of facilities, slides and even pumps and motors can improve your aquatic facility. Get updated on the newest ASTM aquatics standards on topics like structures and netting. (13) National Aquatic Safety Co. (NASCO) Lifeguard Instructor Program
Certification: US $429 Recertification: US $300
Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Oct. 25-27, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. NASCO has developed this
3-day course that licenses its instructors to teach NASCO's various water-safety
programs, including Waterpark Deep Water Lifeguard, Basic Lifeguard, Waterpark
Shallow Water Lifeguard, Waterpark Attendant and the Water Sentry courses. This
course will include lectures and skill development that focuses on victim
recognition, importance of vigilance, water rescue skills, the use of Heimlich
in the water, CPR for aquatic professionals, basic care and first aid.
Instructor candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to swim 200 yards
without resting using the front stroke of choice, retrieve a 10-pound object
from a depth of 8 feet and swim 20 feet with the object from the point of
origin. Participants must be pre-registered to attend. The class size is
limited. |

(14) American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Certification - US
$199 Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Oct. 25-27, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Three day instructor certification course will train instructor candidates to teach
basic-level Lifeguarding, Shallow Water Attendant, First Aid, Lifeguard Management,
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Bloodborne
Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission and Basic Water Rescue courses.
Instructor candidates also will become familiar with GuardStart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow
and the Water Safety presentations. Prerequisites: 17 years of age on or before the
last scheduled day of the instructor course and successful completion of the pre-course
session. This includes passing the pre-course written exam with a score of 80 percent or
higher for each of the three sections and demonstrating competency in the pre-course
skills and scenarios evaluation. Tuition is $199
