National Water Safety Month takes place annually each May and coincides with National Aquatic Week (sponsored by the
National Recreation & Park Association). This national event helps support waterparks around the country in performing
public-service acts that keep their guests-and the public as a whole-"water-aware."
To help WWA members take advantage of the positive opportunities presented by this
community-service event, the World Waterpark Association offers a detailed public-relations
"How-to" Kit. Available in electronic format, this kit provides tips on generating publicity
surrounding National Water Safety Month, ways in which park members can communicate with the
media and creative public relations suggestions members can use to promote their efforts.
Specifically, the National Water Safety Month Guide includes:
Tips on communicating with the media
